THE SCIENCE BEHIND THE STICKER
The materials used to produce Shufflesome stickers are thin, flexible yet
durable. The print quality is close to photorealistic. The choice of materials
and print technology follows a process of trial and error, of mix and match.
Words however don't do much good to describe them. You have to use the
stickers to see & feel what you get.
Haptic, look & feel
High gloss. The vinyl is coated with a high-gloss overlaminating film that
makes the stickers resistant to abrasion. The type of film used is among
the thinest available. At approximately 0.1 mm, the stickers are very thin.
Exterior performance
The cast vinyl is made for use in outdoor environments. Regarding temperature
variations, between -50°C and +90°C you have nothing to worry about.
Regarding humidity, the cast vinyl is very resistant to the effects of
water or saltspray.
Durability
7 years (at least). Wear and tear will obviously reduce the life span.
Vinyl color
White; or transparent for black edition stickers.
Removal
Rest assured, removal is easy. Warm the vinyl with your hands or a hair
dryer (at an elevated temperature, the film is more flexible and allows
easier removal), then lift one edge (use a sharp knife) and peel the film
off from there, slowly. No adhesive residue remains. Do not tear or pull
with force.
Reusability
The decals may be resused - but since they naturally deform when pulled
at, it depends on how carefully you remove them. Obviously they will wear
out when applied and removed several times.
iPod shuffle - application of decals
On the frontside, place the decal onto the button first, and then press
on toward the sides. When attaching the iPod shuffle inclusive decals to
the dock, do it with care, since this might cause friction.
